Belle

Belle was adopted as Cali-10 just after Thanksgiving last year. Her single greatest joy is to hang-out in the kitchen. So she is grateful for a kitchen floor to call her own. She is also very fond of mud. Relaxing in it whenever time permits. As you might imagine her two great joys don't always co-exisit harmoniously.... So we're grateful that she likes baths too!

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Brodie

Hi

My name is Brodie Blaseck and I am proud to submit my picture(s) to let you know what I am most grateful for…

I was adopted from your rescue by Brad and Melissa Blaseck. I will be forever grateful that these kind people took me into their home and showered me with love and care, something that I haven’t had too much of in my life. They are terrific doggie parents and I couldn’t imagine my life without them. I am thankful that I can spend the rest of my life with them and with my new brother Coda and sister Sunny.

I want to share a few of my favorite pics with you, especially the ones taken of me diving into the pool!

Woof to all!
Brodie Blaseck

Blade

My name is Blade. My family had to move out of state, so they left me at the shelter in Hesperia. That’s a scary place. I’m so thankful to GRCGLA Rescue for taking me out of there and placing me in a foster home while they help me find a new family. I’m thankful to have a warm place to rest my head, for all the toys I’m allowed to play with, and I’m even thankful for my furry siblings – even though I like to keep all the toys for myself (I’m told I’m doing very well learning to share!). I am a happy boy.

Sherman Dewees

I am so thankful that I can dig for gophers.

Bucky

My GRCGLARescue dog, Buckingham (Bucky), is thankful for breakfast and dinner (and any scraps he can beg, borrow, or steal), his daily walk, his soft blanket and pillow at the foot of my bed, his numerous pets and rubs, and his big backyard. But he's especially thankful for his stuffed "babies". He likes to bring them to me to play tug-of-war, or roll on his back with one in his mouth and squeak the squeaker until he drives everyone crazy. Sometimes he tries to pick up two or three at a time, and he's hard-pressed to relinquish one to fetch a tennis ball or his leash. When he's done playing, he likes to gather them up and rest his head.

As for me, I'm thankful for GRCGLARescue and Bucky, who brings me so much joy and love. Thank you!

Abby

My name is Abby (AKA Twiddlebug). You can see by my smile I am a happy dog. I am thankful that I have found my forever home and for all the love I get from my new family, for cuddling in someone's lap, for kisses and hugs and tummy rubs, for rides in the car and for my walks!!

Tom and Kathy are grateful to everyone at GRCGLARESCUE for finding Abby for us and for the wonderful work all of you do finding homes for "Goldens". Thank you so much for the gift of Abby!

Belle-de-vie

Belle-de-vie (nee Galinda) is thankful for rugs to mess up, tug toys, a warm place to sleep, the foster dogs who come and go, and a multitude of good things that have come her way since GRCGLA Rescue bailed her out of the shelter.

Maddy

Lulu

Lulu Dewees is thankful for mom's slipper...

Finleigh

....for tennis balls, Hendry's dog beach, playing catch at Redondo Beach Dog Park and long walks with mom and dad...

Finleigh (aka Fendi) Lewis

Bailey

Bailey is forever grateful for her walks and squirrel watching in the park.

Spring

Angel, aka, Spring is my third foster dog, she is thankful for her squeaky multi-colored jax and lounging on the sofa. She is also loves her morning and evening walks through the neighborhood.

Nanci Moreno

Sonny (formerly "Niblet")

Who wouldn't be thankful to be able to hunt squirrels all day... on a walk, in the back yard, at the park? Those rascals are everywhere! Although it doesn't beat the love this wonderful guy has brought to us in the short six months we have had him. Thank you GRCGLA rescue for helping bring us all together!

Tucker

Tucker (formerly Maggie's Thomas) has an abiding belief that nap time is a communal activity. If he can actually
sleep while resting on some part of you, he will issue a deep snorfle of contentment.

I wish I could send you a photo of Tucker playing in the snow at Big Bear, but he won't stop racing long enough for me to snap a picture. He does, however, love his lakeside walks.

Happy Thanksgiving to all goldens and their companions.

Angel

Angel was adopted from the GRCGLA on September 19, 2010. She is 13 years old now. She has her peanut butter-stuffed Kong (the senior Kong) in the photo, and she is on her special memory-foam bed for her aging joints. Even though she has typical arthritis issues due to her age, she literally bounces up and down with excitement -- all four feet leave the floor-- when she sees us filling her Kong. Angel is so full of love for life that it was hard to choose just one thing she is thankful for. She also loves to roll around in the grass in the backyard and watch TV with us on the futon. Angel is our first dog, and she has brought us so much joy. We can't imagine a more perfect dog.

p.s. her front leg is shaved because she had surgery for an aural hematoma, which she got from shaking her head back and forth too hard, even though there was no foreign body in her ear to have prompted the head shaking.

Larry

Hi, it’s Larry and I was adopted September 2011. First and foremost I am most grateful to the Golden Retriever Club of Greater Los Angeles for pulling an old guy like me out of the shelter and saving my life. It took me 10 years but I finally found my forever family. I am most grateful for the days I get to have my hydrotherapy in a warm pool along with plenty of toys to choose from.

Love,
Larry & the Abbott family

Sadie

Here's a little cuddle time between me and Sadie. She was our sixth foster dog from GRCGLARESCUE. She is SO happy to be here and we are so thankful for her!! And our Swissy Forrest is in love with her too! Thank you!
